Education is critical to building inclusive societies that are resilient to fear and hate. We firmly believe that schools can be incubators for inclusive and equitable societies. Equipping learners to engage positively with difference is an urgent global challenge.

It takes an all-around (intersectional), coordinated (systemic), and sustained effort to challenge hatred and make educational spaces inclusive for all. We refer to the complex constellation of institutional attributes and individual attitudes as the “hardware” and “software” of pluralism, as we engage with diverse stakeholders such as educators, educational leaders, policy makers, community leaders, civil society, researchers, political leaders, media actors, and national and international organizations. We take an all-around approach grounded in this complexity to foster learning experiences that cultivate mutual recognition and belonging.
