Laís Maurilio

Lais is a journalist and researcher driven by a deep fascination with humanity in all its forms. After 15 years in Rio de Janeiro’s fast-paced media and communications scene, she brought her curiosity to Canada in 2018, earning a Master’s in Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of Ottawa. In the National Capital, Lais channeled her expertise into local and national nonprofits, working to strengthen civic engagement and bring diverse voices into politics. Whether dissecting policy, championing underrepresented stories, debating the greatest heavy metal album of all time, or passionately defending real football (AKA soccer), she brings fierce intellect, infectious laughter, and a relentless drive for impact.
