Centre celebrates 40 new Canadians

Canadian Citizenship Ceremony held at the Global Centre for Pluralism

On March 27th 2019, the Centre is pleased to partner with the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) to host an official citizenship ceremony celebrating 40 new Canadians.

The event, a signature program of the ICC, offers a unique opportunity to reflect on what it means to be active, engaged citizens. Citizenship will be conferred by the Government of Canada through the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Pluralism seeks to bridge, rather than erase differences. In a pluralistic society, citizenship is more than just a legal expression of an individual’s rights. It also means a sense of belonging and acceptance of a person as a full, equal and valued member of society.
