Sa recherche actuelle porte sur les \u00e9tudes sociales comparatives de l\u2019islam \u00e0 travers le monde et sur la mani\u00e8re dont les musulmans composent avec des sources diversifi\u00e9es de normes et de valeurs, notamment diverses interpr\u00e9tations de la tradition, des lois, des codes et d\u00e9cisions islamiques ainsi que des normes sociales locales.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En France, comme dans d\u2019autres r\u00e9gions de l\u2019Europe, la diversit\u00e9 ethnoculturelle croissante a suscit\u00e9 de vifs d\u00e9bats sur l\u2019identit\u00e9 nationale. Ax\u00e9s principalement sur l\u2019int\u00e9gration des populations musulmanes, ces d\u00e9bats ont tourn\u00e9 autour du caract\u00e8re central de la la\u00efcit\u00e9, de la citoyennet\u00e9 indiff\u00e9renci\u00e9e et des conceptions historiques de l\u2019\u00c9tat fran\u00e7ais. Certains critiques estiment que des interpr\u00e9tations rigides de l\u2019id\u00e9ologie r\u00e9publicaine cr\u00e9ent des obstacles artificiels \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9gration des musulmans et les privent de nombreux outils politiques qui pourraient autrement promouvoir une citoyennet\u00e9 plus inclusive. Toutefois, d\u2019autres pr\u00e9tendent que la tradition r\u00e9publicaine en tant que telle offre des ressources pour respecter le pluralisme. En ce qui concerne les objectifs du pluralisme, dans quelle mesure la tradition r\u00e9publicaine fran\u00e7aise est-elle flexible?
